Janet Gilligan is the Deputy Director of Rhode Island Legal Services and has been practicing law since 1978. Her areas of practice are Family Law with an emphasis on Domestic Violence and Child Welfare Law. She has represented clients in the Rhode Island Family and Supreme Court.
Janet is a frequent presenter at Rhode Island Bar Association and Volunteer Lawyer seminars and has been a trainer with the New England Training Consortium and the Shriver Center since 1999. She has trained legal services lawyers in Massachusetts, Florida, South Carolina, Mississippi, Nevada, New York and the District of Columbia. Janet is also an adjunct faculty member at the Roger Williams University School of Law. Janet is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and the University of Maine School Of Law.
